When my husband and I were looking for photographers, we wanted someone with experience, an artistic eye and someone who was like us: fun. We found Wes through one of his assistants, Jonathan Chick. Both my husband and I had known Jonathan for years, and he showed us the work Wes did, and he told us about how great he was to work for. So we set up an appointment and completely fell in love with Wes and his approach to photography and his easy-going, yet professional attitude. So we set up our time for an engagement session and our original plans to get married on Tybee Island.
A few weeks before our engagement session in October, we decided to get married in Greece, on the island of Santorini. After Wes shot our engagement pictures, we apologized and told him that plans had changed and we were now getting married overseas. We assumed Wes wouldn’t travel to photograph our wedding, but we were pleasantly mistaken. He said he still wanted to photograph us, and he said he was willing to travel with us to Greece! It was a great surprise and huge relief to David and I because we had no idea who would actually shoot our wedding.
Having Wes and his beautiful wife, Donna, with us made our wedding even better. He followed us for the day before and day after our wedding, capturing some of the most beautiful scenery we’ve ever laid eyes on. We joked that on our wedding/honeymoon we had the paparazzi following us. In addition to taking pictures, we were also able to make some amazing memories with new and very dear friends.
It is evident when we looked at our finished pictures on the website how much passion and talent Wes has for wedding photography. No wonder he was voted the best in Valdosta; he has clearly earned it. We are life long fans of Wes and will continue to sing his praises. Anyone looking for a photographer that cares about what his doing, is fun, flexible and up for any random shots but above all professional, would be remiss if they didn’t hire Wes and his team.
Wes, we appreciate you and Donna for being there as we wrote a new chapter in our lives! You are awesome (as well as many other corresponding adjectives), and our PERFECT Greek wedding would not have been the same without you guys there. Thank you for all the laughs and memories created in Santorini with donkey, the crepe place our favorite little baklava place, the frigid Aegean Sea and of course your powers to stop a bus in the middle of a busy street during an Athenian train workers strike. We love you!
